While Adobe Lightroom performs all the functions of digital lightroom, it is an application that allows you to organize your photos, edit them, make copies in any size you want as jpeg, prepare books or videos, upload the photos you want to sharing sites such as Flickr, 500px or even make a website. In short, a lightroom photo editor is not just a photo editor, it is an application that allows you to do a complete workflow about photography.
Adobe Lightroom Photo Editor Review
Adobe Lightroom photo editor takes control and offers functions to help you find and grade photos while also allowing you to use Photoshop’s features for photography. When it comes to editing photos, the app comes up with many alternatives to stores. But Adobe’s experience in this industry puts the Lightroom application one step further. You can download this application, which has a paid version for the computer, to your smartphones with Android and iOS operating systems free of charge.
Why Lightroom Photo Editor?
- Photoshop might be enough for you if you are dealing with individual photos. However, if you want a complete assistant, Lightroom Photo Editor will be the right choice for you. First of all, it doesn’t bother you with complex tasks like Photoshop’s layers. All functions are waiting for you in certain tabs between -100 +100.
- There is nothing better than Lightroom Photo Editor in raw processing. Although it is similar to Adobe Camera Raw Lightroom Photo Editor, it may be a simpler version, but maybe enough for individual photos, but it cannot give you the archiving options Lightroom Photo Editor offers.
- Another feature of Lightroom is that it doesn’t damage your photos. Changes you make in Lightroom Photo Editor never work into the original file. It is stored in Lightroom’s catalog file. Thus, we always have a chance to press reset and return the original file.
- Lightroom Catalog offers you many ways to find your photos. It does this by archiving the Metadata. Metadata contains all kinds of information from the shooting values of your photo to the keyword information you add. Lightroom collects this information and tries to give the most accurate results when you search. That’s why the most important backend of Lightroom is the Catalog file.
What can we do with Lightroom Photo Editor?
In fact, with the new versions, there is not much left that Lightroom Photo Editor can do and Photoshop can do. The biggest difference is that we don’t have the chance to do the manipulations in Photoshop in Lightroom Photo Editor since there are no layers. Apart from that, many functions such as regional and general retouching, contrast, light corrections, conversion to black and white, adding a vignette, noise reduction, sharpening, white balance, perspective correction are at our fingertips.
Lightroom Photo Editor VS Photoshop
Adobe Lightroom Photo Editor has not opposed these two programs. We can understand this by having both in the photographer package. Although Photoshop offers many options according to illustrators as well as photography, you will see that your options will increase when you improve yourself in both programs. So learning one and not knowing the other is not the right approach. However, if you want to start somewhere, paying attention to Lightroom will help you work more comfortably.

Setting the photo size with Lightroom
The photos we take while shooting the photo may not always come out straight. To correct the curvatures and get a more symmetrical image, all we have to do is select the break option from the menu. Likewise, when we want to focus more closely on another point in our photo by using the break option, we can crop the photo accordingly.
Creating the appropriate light setting with Lightroom
- While editing photos, the section with the highest change in photography is the section where the light settings are made. The first value we will change in this section is the exposure value. If our photo is not as dark or light as we want, we can change our value here and make our photos lighter or darker. For our sample photo, it will be sufficient to increase our exposure value a little.
- Another important value in this section is our contrast value. As the contrast value in our photograph increases, a more dynamic photograph will emerge. That’s why we increase our contrast value without going too far. Then we will try to reduce the shining places in our photos by editing our light tones. If we want to reduce the bright parts like in our sample photo, we can do it by pulling the light tone line to the left.
- The contrast and light tone adjustments we made may have caused some details to disappear in the dark while giving our photo a more dynamic image. To reveal these details, we open the shadow setting in our photo to the end. If we want the shadows to be darker, we can dim our shadows a certain amount.
- The last thing you need to do in this section is to adjust the white and black of our photo. What we need to pay attention to when setting the white balance is the state of the photo. If the photo is too bright than desired, we can prevent this by reducing the white balance a little. Or if we want the lights in our photo to stand out, we can increase the white balance. We can do a similar thing using the black setting for dark areas.
